What a great thing to come back to! (Company going down the pan)
Well we got married on the 18th September and have just returned from a 3 week honeymoon.
Since coming back, we've found out that the people we used for our gift list (The Gift Registry) has gone down the pan.
It's lucky we weren't relying on these things to set up home as they were all nice to haves.
It's just a pain as I know a few of our guests who paid for items either by Switch or Delta!
We've been in touch with the CAB and already told our guests to speak to their banks/credit card companies.
Lets see what happens!

They were on Watchdog last week which was probably to final nail in the coffin for them. Very sad for you both and I hope you get it sorted out.

I useful comment I had from a guy at work is that I should have gone with John Lewis!!!
Well if we thought this would happen, we would have!!!
I'm more concerned about people who have paid with debit cards!
As a side issue the wedding went very well despite the rain on the day (sounds like it would make a crap 'ironic' song) and a three week break split between Sydney and Hong Kong was fantastic!

For the guests who used credit cards they shoudl get a refund via the card company. This does not apply to all (but most) banks/bs's whose debit cards you use. Also, you need to find out who the receivers are (if appointed) and get your claim in soon.
In view of the fact that these were wedding gifts, I would also receommend that everyone affected makes sure that they can provide a prrof of purchase (any form) as this will be required.
Also, trading Standards are a good bet & very helpful - use www.yell.co.uk to look up the trading standards number for the area the company were based if possible, or if not then your local one.
Glad you had a nice time anyway.

That's a major **** Andy, and certainly something you don't need to hear after coming back from honeymoon (Congratulations btw )
Hopefully something can be sorted out for the people who paid by debit cards, if not, then major grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

This has happened to some friends of mine who had their wedding in September. We've all just received an e-mail from them saying that they're not getting any of their presents. I've just phoned the bank (paid by debit card) and they said there's nothing they can do.
Next step is to contact the Administrators, but the bride has told me that no one has been appointed yet.
Looks like that money's gone.

Try getting in touch with the head office of a big dept store who do wedding lists, (John Lewis, M&S etc,) & explain the situation you're in & how much you've lost. Suggest that you would be willing to place the remains your list with them & if they could make a gesture on top, and you'd be delighted to be involved in any "X retailer steps in to save couples dreams" newspaper articles.
