For starters. Watch the Travel channels on sky (638 and 648 for starters) as you get to see videos of hotels/resorts etc.
Id find a place you want to stay first by researching on the web then look for the best deal. I started looking at the Caribbean but then saw how nice the Maldives is and ended up booking there. What sort of holiday are you looking for?
Simon.

Looking to go early december me the wife and my 8 year old boy, must be warm NO rain LOL!!! Caribbean looks favourite, Maldives requires injections doesn't it, how far in advance do you have to have them?
we'd like all inclusive, looking to spend about £1,500 but thats not cast in stone if we find somewhere we really like!
just found http://www.justcaribbean.com they look quite cheap??

Afraid you can't guarantee the "no rain" bit, though. We were there last December and had more than our fair share, though it was always warm, and the showers were over quite quickly. Problem was we were cruising, and the sea was quite rough!

You cant guarantee No rain to anywhere with a tropical climate unfortunately - thats the compromise of warm weather all year around.
Maldives they recomment jabs but they arent compulsory - same to carribean AFAIK.
