What's Bucharest like?

Hello
Bucharest is a mixture of luxury and scary poverty. I assume if she is going on business, she will either be staying at the Hilton or the Marriot. Both of which are really nice hotels, with a list price of about $400 a night.
I certainly wouldn't recommend her going out on her own, and some of the taxis have been known to be dangerous.
Not for her: But the women there are quite attractive, and like English men! Just for your information, should you have to go ...

Hello
The Majestic looks okay (http://www.majestic.ro/contact.php), the above still applies though. I would get the people she is working with to take her out.
I worked there for a while, going back and forth. But I had some government officials looking after me ...

I stayed at the majestic a few years back. It's pretty good.
Local taxis varied from mercs ( safe / comfortable ) to lada's ( exciting ). There is a good freindly bar if you come out the hotel and take the first left.
I (ahem) second the comments re the ladies....
