Default Phobias, anyone got one ?

Just watching something about Phobias on Discovery, I knew there are Phobias about pretty much anything but there was a guy who was papping himself at the sight of a can of Baked Beans, I am not mocking as it was obviously serious but I never realised something as innoocent as Baked Beans could cause such trauma.

My Phobias are generally fairly realistic

Unusual Noises from car
Bathroom Scales
Hangovers
The kids getting home from School when I am off work
Bank Stements
When the dog lets one go
Doctors

Etc

im terrified of needles, think it comes from me getting meningitis jab @ school. The nurse giving me it went to grab hold of lad next to me getting his who had fainted, leaving the needle wobbling about in me arm.

Also the time when I was younger and me dad had a heart attack on boxing day, will always remember sitting in the back of the ambulance about 3 in the morning being squirted with blood as the paramedic stuck the needle in me dads arm for the drip.

With you on the needles. I reckon I can take most things, but can't watch a needle go into me, in fact can't look at a needle full stop. Had a Lumbar Puncture when I was 14 which defo caused me some issues, huge needle in between two vertebrae in the lower back, draining fluid off for ten minutes.

I'm not a fan of big jungle type spiders or snakes, but I'd sooner hold one of them than have a blood test!

Claire, are you actually phobic or do they just knock you a bit sick and you try to avoid them like I do, Rick Stein the sea food bloke would probably eat one, in fact he would more than likely get hammered with Keith Floyd and fry one in butter, garlic, sea salt and serve it with brown rice and declare it fantastic, I would imagine anything off the bottom of a boat tastes pretty much the same when fried up with butter, sea salt and garlic. I am sure the locals in far flung places just go and find what crap has washed up on the beach and pretend they have been eating for generations and give it to Floyd and Stein.

I thought that was just me!!! Thank god I'm not as abnormal as I thought. It's the nastiest sound in the world and really turns my stomach. Strangely the sound of my own brushing doesn't bother me at all.

Last time I had a filling I didnt bother with the injection. Its 'orrible.

My only other fears are heights, cockroaches and the kind of bugs that apear in Indiana jones films. Lots of legs etc.

I can't abide wooden ice-lolly sticks even the thought of them makes me cringe.

I blame it on having tonsilitis a lot as a child, & the doctor sticking that wooden spatula thing on my tongue.

I was working out what bit was what and then I realised that I was still eating. Must be desensitized to stuff like this now. Odd, show me a cockroach and I running for the hills and not bothered about food anymore.
