Why are no travelling people of ethnic minority or black ?
After watching trevor mcdonald's programme about travelling people last week, something came to mind -
Why are no travelling people of ethnic minority or black ?
Every carnival, gypo site or tv program I have seen they are all white, english spoken people.
Or have I just not done enough research ?
Obviously the were originally romany gypsies but you don't see many of them either now with the clothpegs and lucky white heather.

Or, without hijacking the thread, why are there no (or very, very few) black visitors to National Trust/English Heritage types of places. Always wondered.

to be a pikey you need to be born a pikey, and you need money, which most ethnic minorities do not have. or would not live in the way pikeys do.
and before you prattle on about pikeys not having money, most of them have x5's shoguns and mercs round here.

Because its not their history ?
Also why did the invading vikings, stop at dover - did they think they were at the edge of the earth.
And if we all originated in africa, did we evolve into white people and if so how did we get to an island, that was cut off from the mainland long before man existed ?
And how come there was a programme about fake moon landings, when in 1969 they watched the rocket take off at cape canavril, live all the way into space, but then suddenly conspired to wait a couple of days in space, and also be in two places at once soing a live fake in a studio.
The amazing thing is the quality of the footage, considering in 1969 what the space films of the day had - with plastic spaceships on strings why were even early 80's films less realistic.

LOL - not a member i assume, PC?! 
Sorry, but if i was British and proud to be British, i'd be more than eager to go and see a bit of the British countryside, whether it had a "pile" (
) on it or not. From my expereince, precious few black Brits seem to want to do so.

Nothing unPC about the thread - just surprised they picked a black presenter for a documentary about a traditionaly WASP society.

When I was in South Africa, it was racicst to call "coloureds" blacks and blacks Coloureds. - HMMM i'm obviously so ignorant I couldn't tell two races apart, I thought they were africans.

To classify humans on the basis of physiological traits is difficult, for the coexistence of races through conquests, invasions, migrations, and mass deportations has produced a heterogeneous world population. Nevertheless, by limiting the criteria to such traits as skin pigmentation, color and form of hair, shape of head, stature, and form of nose, most anthropologists agree on the existence of three relatively distinct groups: the Caucasoid, the Mongoloid, and the Negroid.
The Caucasoid, found in Europe, N Africa, and the Middle East to N India, is characterized as pale reddish white to olive brown in skin color, of medium to tall stature, with a long or broad head form. The hair is light blond to dark brown in color, of a fine texture, and straight or wavy. The color of the eyes is light blue to dark brown and the nose bridge is usually high.
The Mongoloid race, including most peoples of E Asia and the indigenous peoples of the Americas, has been described as saffron to yellow or reddish brown in skin color, of medium stature, with a broad head form. The epicanthic fold, imparting an almond shape to the eye, is common, and the nose bridge is usually low or medium.

My favourite is mongoloid - its meaning is far from the above in my mind - more TIMMY TIMMY TIMMY from south park than **** from outer mongolia.

LOL, i ain't reading that, 101!! All i'm saying is that black people's skin composition makes them less effective swimmers, and their greater muscularity makes them better at most other athletic pursuits.
