Unhappy Litter

Wandering around town at lunchtime, I am amazed, rather appalled at the number of people who take something out of it's packaging and just discard the wrapper or bag on the floor.

Was behind someone who finished their mcdonalds coke and just discarded the cup on the floor, even though there are bins every 20 yards!!!

Why do people do this?

Thumbs down

This really p1sses me off - it's pure laziness. Take the ******* stuff home or hang onto it until you find a litter bin. I have to say that the UK is largely crap at providing enough of these things but that's no excuse for dropping litter.

Flytippers need ******* shooting as well. Take the stuff down the tip like decent people do.

Ahh...that's better.

lol @ Patt, **** like that have made me into a bad person behind the wheel, I dont have shout at the top of my voice at people now, nearly everyday some1 gets a mouthful...lol.. womans started to get scared when shes with me in the car now

it is disgusting though, problem is you just cant combat it.... nothing will stop them IMO, although it was nice to see on tuesday a guy in McDonalds uniform a good half mile away from maccy dees litter picking and not just mcdees wrappings either, anything and everything they was cleaning up, 1 of the cleanest places in town is around mcdonalds IMO. I wouldnt mind Mcdees every half mile if it keeps the place clean.

I think there would be a lot less litter around if blind people's white sticks had sharp points on them

Yup...

You'll find I'm probably the least PC person on here mate, just trying to point out something that would easily offend most Asians IMHO

Hello

It is just society today. My parents instilled a sense of decency into me and to respect others and the environment. I make sure my children always dispose of their litter.

My four year old daughter started to unwrap things and throw the wrappers on the floor. So I explained why that's not good, the effect that it has on the environment and now she always finds a bin. I guess if parents do not do this, you end up with the idiots who wander around throwing rubbish.

Steve.

This gets my goat too!

If you can you should return their litter to them in the most public and embarrassing way. Myself and some mates were in a traffic jam on the M5 for ages, it was hot, tempers were fraying and then suddenly we see some scum lob a bag of rubbish out of his window into the central reservation. I jumped out, threw it back in his window and told him loudly, infront of all the other cars, that:

a) we had taken a photo of the car and the rubbish
b) we were going to be stuck behind him for the foreseeable future and if we saw him throw it out again he would get it back again... with interest!

Bloody pleb!

Cos we live in England. The most un-cultured, yobbish, Chavest ****hole in Europe.

Most people are so used to it they don't even notice it. You did notice it, so there is some hope.

lol at Senior, I think you may have a point.

Our local council commissioned a study into chewing gum. They have estimated there are 200,000 pieces of chewing gum on the pavements in town

amazing!

Hello

And you didn't wonder how much they paid someone to wander around and count those 200,000 pieces?!

Ever tried picking up the offending litter and handing it back to the dropper? and saying as you hand it back ~"S'cuse me, I think you dropped this" . It gets various responses, but mostly an embarrassed look and a humble taking back of the item.

Slightly off topic but along a similar vain.

Idle bastárds who shop in supermarkets and load their cars only to leave the trolley next to the car and then drive off.

I asked a bloke and woman the other day why they felt it right to just leave it. The bloke looked sheepish and the woman said "give me a break". Then the bloke who felt braver after his missus had said something asked me what harm it was doing?

I said it had a fair chance of rolling into the car behind them ( Merc SL500). He replied, "well it hasn't has it" and then drove off.

As the trolley was taking up a parking space, the person who wanted to park in the space jumped out and moved it.

They wheeled it up 3 spaces and put it directly behind me!!! I then said " you won't be leaving it there will you"?

Not expecting anybody to be in the car they were surprised and mumbled "errr no" and walked off with it.

This happened in about 7 minutes of waiting in the car park.

That's what you get for choosing the wrong part of the car park!
