http://dict.leo.org is an excellent online dictionary that is maintained out of Stuttgart University, the translations are not always 100% but it is by far the best dictionary I have come across and we use it alot at work.

Ok - so what does KDF stand for, and what does it mean??
And yes - the literal translation of Vorsprung Durch Technik is 'A leap forward through technology'.

I was always told it was 'Progress through Technology', but I will bow to those with a far superior understanding of the German language than I have if 'Advancement Through Technology' is the better translation
