Unhappy Anybody had a knee replacement!!!!!!!!!

Morning guys, As some of you who know me I'm one of the older Scoobynetters, sadly back in 1996 I was involved in an horriffic head on smash in my works van, and yesterday, my right knee came up to the size of a mellon, anybody here had a knee replacement, cos that looks like what I might have to have, If I ever get my hands on that drunk he's a dead man
Cheers

My mum recently had one due to arthritis buggering up her knee.

She was in hospital for less than a week in total, and now has much better mobility.

After the operation she had to undergo a series of visits to a physiotherapist and has lots of special excrecises to do when at home, which seemingly are agony to do, but kinda neccessary.

My sister has had both done. She was in hospital about a week and had quite a bit of physio, but both are fine now, unfortunately her hips have started to go.

My granny got both done at age 76 - for the previous 5 or 6 years she had been nearly unable to leave the (farm)house. Now she is 82 she still goes out to bring the cows in for milking.... She says its the best thing she can remember (and no - she doesn't have Alzheimers )

Strange as it may sound, but Northern Ireland is one of the best (if not the best) places to have this done. Maybe cause we had the most practice doing this during 1960 to 1990

One of my friends had knee replacement after a weird accident which resulted in him splitting the ****** in half

I don't think they stopped in 1990. They still get two or three hoods to practice on every day.

Chip,
Thanks for that mate, my sentiments exactly, the barstewaed walked away from the smash, but collapsed on the carriageway, only cos he was pissed and in shock, but had no injuries at all, the combined speed of the smashed was 170 mph, YES 170 mph
Cheers
