Question Credit Ratings Affected By Previous Owner???

We have moved into another house, but the previous owner owed a lot of money to banks, credit cards, city council, etc.

For exampe he owes:

£15k with a bank
£5k Credit Card
£1.5k City Council

Will this affect our credit ratings?

We have been living in this property for 1 year and we still recieve letters from debt collectors about the previous owner.

Any advice would be nice or contact details to clear all the above.

Cheers

contact experian www.experian.co.uk and equifax www.equifax.co.uk. They will guide you through the process of disassociation. You probably also need to write to the debt collectors etc
