Machester airport security?? (BBC1)

I didn't see it but nothing would surprise me at that place. I've worked as a Contractor there many times over the last few years.
At one time not so long ago it was stupidly easy to get an "airside pass"
I have to admit that i always have the "security" issue thought whenever i fly from there

I worked there as a student, it was laughable then, used to go walkies airside, wander round the baggage carts and was never challenged even though my pass didnt cover my access.
I know people who work there, its still crap even in todays climate, only when stuff starts exploding in the skies over Manchester will they start taking it as seriously as they should, f*cking all the guards terms and conditions didnt help, they went from a living wage to poverty in one go, probably due to some smart **** consultant employed to make even more money for the greedy airport authority, what they fail to see is that what goes around comes around. There is no loyalty there (would you be loyal having had your pay slashed), sickness is rife probably due to the stress and why the hell not, people have had to give up their houses and be put into council houses, the irony being that the airport authority is part owned by the Labour council in Manchester so they save on the wage bill but have to house people in subsidised council accomodation, brilliant eh !
Same with the baggage handlers, bus drivers, cleaners etc etc.
