Default Staying overnight in Liverpool

Just a quick one, my birthday is coming up soon and a few of us are thinking of having a look over to Liverpool for the night......

Basically we're just getting cheap digs ie. TravelLodge but the nearest we can get is Wirral Eastham.

Is this a 'mare to get to town from?
I'm assuming there's a local train service (ie. a bit like the Metro we could use)

Any infor would be great.
Thanks

There is a train that goes from there into town, until quite late, but I've no idea where in the Wirral that place is.
There's a youth hostel on the waterfront though - 10 minutes walk from town centre.
There's another travel lodge type of place along Aigburth road - about a fiver away from town in a taxi. 40-odd quid a night, if I remember rightly.

Hotel Formula 1 - is that the one just down the road from the youth hostel - opposite the Albert dock?

The train services stops about 11:30 back from Liverpool, which is ****. Taxi drivers are less than willing to come over to the wirral. The cheapest local hotel to Eastham is prob. the Village in Bromborough, if you book a taxi via the Village they may well pick you from town. A tunnel bus service runs from Liverpool back to Birkenhead not sure of the timings though and get a cab from Bhead back to village hotel, only about 4 miles.

Enjoy

Those two are very close (next door) to the Albert Dock. They're not much but if its just for the night then go for it, quite cheap aswell. I think the last time i stayed in the Dolby it was £38.00 a night

PS I've not stayed in the Campanile

Pete

............................. or you could offer Yoza a few quid to stay at his

Just back from a night out in L/pool last night (absolutely fooked ) We stayed at the Moathouse in the Albert DOcks, cost us £60 for a room, right in the city centre, not the best Moathouse I've ever stayed in but its close to where everythin was. Would recommend u organise a meal in a restaurant somewhere as the food wasnt the best. They have a deal with the NCP car park next door that gives u 24hr parking for £5.50.

Enjoy
