What was your favourite lesson at school?
The other night I watched "That'll teach them" on C4 and it stated that the most skived lesson these days is PE. It got me thinking of my school days and although I did OK in most subjects, PE was my favourite and I'm sure I wasnt alone!?

isnt PE a tw@t because when its minus degrees below they make you run etc outside in a pair of shorts plus when it come to rugby they make you tackle someone by diving at their feet to take them down im sure there is nothing wrong with wearing track suit bottoms but schools wouldnt let you when i was there plus that way of tackling someone to the ground in rugby is a sure fire way of losing teeth but thats just a couple of my reasons why PE was bad, plus why are all the PE teachers gay types who leech at you in showers

My fave was Technical Drawing. Shame that CAD was just around the corner.

RE was a total waste of time, along with Latin. PE was OK in 6th form when we got to play games like badminton and squash, but prior to that it was always team sports and, well, who wants to be the nerd that nobody wants on their team?
It almost put me off sports for ages... if only the kids at school knew that a few years later I was actually teaching Jiu Jitsu in my university club. They'd never, ever believe it

Kissing Deborah Buck behind the bikesheds!!
If my memory hasn't run away with me she was a Catherine Zeta Jones in the making .............. delicious
I was never too clever at school, just favoured chatting and messing about - it was only at college I bucked up and took notice! Come to think of it, kissing the girls was STILL my best subject!

Metalwork/design I loved it, but got thrown out in year three.
We were making a plaque out of copper plate, heating it up really hot and then adding powder enamel, this made a nice shiney plaque.
But I decided to heat up the tongs which held the plaque, until 'cherry red' hot, then I gripped another pupils ear with them.
Got suspended, then re-admitted but wasnt allowed to do any method again only theory.
I was stupid then too......

Maths, physics and economics were my favourites
RE, History, PE and CDT were my least favourites. Why couldn't CDT have taught us useful stuff, like fitting skirting boards, hanging doors and hanging wallpaper? Like I'm ever going to make another shoe-scraper...
Bizarrely, although I didn't like them at school, English Language, Art and History have all become interesting for me in the years since.

Forgot to add, the lad had thrown a leather sandbag at me the week before. It was a good shot, he hit me on the head and nearly knocked me out.
It was one of those bags you put a metal plate on, and shape it with a hammer.
But revenge is sweet, and comes to those who wait.

Jeez - did no-one else have sex education? - with Miss McKee, who I personally believe was involved in the S&M scene. She used to lift us up by the sideburns until our lips would be milimeters away from hers and our chest would brush her ample bosoms. She would then 'bring you on' until you were nose to nose, groin to groin, and stiff as as a schoolboy who was croth to crotch with a babe teacher.
Bitch never gave me a **** though

Further to my last post, RE was my best subject. Quite ironic considering I'm a total atheist.
As for you weirdos who like Maths, there's something deeply and darkly wrong with you all.

Fave subject was geography, but that was down to having an excellent teacher. Right old git, but he knew his subject and kept me interested. Worst was maths, so choosing a maths A-level wasn't the best choice I guess, again this was down to the teachers, one was OK, the second was so dull, he was the only teacher to actually bore me into a deep slumber.

music
After i discovered atari ST sequencing and an old roland synth in the music room
And art- as we were allowed to talk and have a laugh.
I didnt do PE once in 5 whole years- i hold an unoffical record for the longest skive ever.
A different note every week (some erm forged some genuine) and it used to really wind my teachers up
only in 6th form when we could go skiiing (dry ski slope) or to the weights gym for games did i decide i was suddenly healthy
My most hated:
history.
We were told we had to pick either geography or history for the final two years of GCSE. I told them i hated both and wouldnt work in either, and i would rather i had an extra 4 lessons of private study a week.
After a year of 0 work in the history class they let me drop it

History.
My history teacher hated me and I hated him ( a long story, but a funny one), so as long as I didnt get caught sneaking out the gate, he didnt mind if I was not in his lesson.
Which was nice

My history master was a sadistic psychopath. No one ever talked in his class - well not after my mate Dan did, and was rewarded with one of those old wooden blackboard rubbers fired baseballer pitcher stylee at his head from about 25 meters away. He had 8 stiched in his head for that. Those were the days when the masters could thrash all the kids to within an inch of their lives....kids these days don't know how easy they have it etc etc yadda yadda
