http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...917666356&rd=1
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...K:12&from=R18/
i know there not really upgradeable so to speak and you do get what you pay for , the other kit of the two seems to cater for 2 plus 2 and obd 1 and 2
do you think they do what they say?
im thinking along the lines of a kit like that to start off and ill prob buy a eprom programmer once ive mastered desoldering etc a little better
not a lot but i have up to 500 quid to spend at the mo

No mate it is not that is highly illegal and results in prison, most cars store information in more than one points so no it is not
mileage correction comes into use say for a replacement cluster is fited or very occasionally displays zero themselfs.

Mileage correction is mainly used for clocking but those that sell the service/equipment always try and claim it's for damaged speedos etc. It's not illegal to change the clock anyway, only if you misrepresent the vehicle's history by doing so.

Well, i'd be dfukin pissed of if I boutgt a car that was mis-represented. It's not on and it's irrelevant whether the milieage is as a reslut of damage speedos etcc etct.

Some of the manufacturers are using backup technology, I believe BMW backup car data in the key including the mileage. However, the mileage 'correction' experts can also provide key reader/writers now!

However they can't change old mot certificates, or a quick call to the dealers to ask what the mileage was the last time they serviced it etc.
Ultimately you can't stop someone changing the mileage of the car, but you can check up to see if it's valid although most people won't.
Personally I think the mileage option on the MOT certificate should be MANDATORY, not optional then things will hopefully change.
