1st time karting, made it back in one piece:)
now that was sooooooooo cool. absoloutely bricking it before going out, thought it was best to wear the novice bib to warn the proper drivers that i would be cutting them up
i had a great time and ****, do i ache today! karts weren't actually as fast as i thought they would be, but fast enough for a good buzz
the lap times weren't too bad either sent out near the back in the first session, which helped to have a bit of time to get used to the lines and pace etc. and out of 15 finished 10th (places determined on best lap times) with a BL of 52.407, best lap was 50.488 by a guy in the faster thunder kart and he had all his own gear (must be good then). one 1min lap(the very first) and the the rest were 58 gradually getting it down to the 52.407 on the very last lap (banzai lap).
almost run to the pits for the 2nd session i was so wired, sent out first and hit the ground running, 54's getting down to consistent 51's with a 51.272 BL which finished me in 5th of 9 with 3 quicker karts out there i was well chuffed with this
definately gonna do it again soon, if only to try to get to grips with the 3 corners that caused me troubled me all the way round, hairpin 1, the corner at the bottom of the esses and the next corner over the brow of the hill. couldn't get these buggers! always next time! gonna look at that link to the video of the fast lap to see how it's supposed to be done
well recommended

You want faster? Don't Buckmore run Club 100 (I think that's what it's called - bit out of date these days)? It is/was a championship running hired 100cc 2-stroke TKM motors. Not the fastest karts out there, but a hell of a lot quicker than any 4-strokes. Major fun

If you can keep it on a purely-for-fun level, then you will have a fantastic time. But beware the moment that you lust after trophies - the fun soon evaportates and the cost goes through the roof (if you haven't remortgaged the house already - like I did ). Strange thing is, if I had the chance again, I'd do exactly the same, fool that I am
