Never had a problem with the scoob. I'm 6ft3 and have had lower back problems in the past, but the scoob is ace in that respect, very supportive seats and good adjustability.
Try changing the seat settings a bit, the smallest change can make all the difference.

Lack of lumbar support? Had cheap buckets in my Dutton with no padding in the lower back, drove it from London to the Lake District and back over a week, crippled me for months.
After that I unstapled the back, rammed a 9" square of foam up it, and stapled it back again. Less than 15 mins per seat. Swore at myself for not doing it when I'd bought them 2 years earlier.

Alot has to do with your position relative to the steering wheel and pedals. If your too close or too far, your body goes into a state of constant tension to compensate - this affects your back after a short time and makes you tired quicker.
Combine this with a seat that maybe too upright or laid back it only increases this. Try different positions (seating for you dirty minded SN'ers ) over a period of time.
The cushion idea is a good one to try when you've exhausted your normal seat arrangement.
I had the same problem and the upright was too far forward. Thing is I didnt think it was that bad till I tried some mates cars. The change is awkward, but its worth a go.
