Default Places to eat in Birmingham City Centre

Hi All,

The other half has just suprised me and booked us in to The City Inn for Saturday night (not sure what's up with him) and i'm looking for some suggestions of places to go for eats.

All suggestions welcome.

Would recommend Shimla Pinks. This is an "upmarket" indian restaurant on Broad Street.

Broad Street is a bit of a tip to be honest, but Shimla Pinks was very nice when I went there back in February.

Great food, fair prices, good service, and a little bit different from your "usual" indian. Not a good place to go with your mates in my opinion, but with your missus, ideal.

Yeah i think the Hotel is just off Broad Street so not too far from the Bull Ring.

I've been to Shimla Pinks in Leicester and liked it there so assuming it's the same thats a safe option.

There are some very nice bars & restaurants in the Mailbox & also over the road from Broad St by Brindley Place.
Shimla Pinks has gone down hill.

I would endorse the Mailbox for bars, definitely a better bet than Broad Street.

The restaurant at the Hotel Du Vin is fantastic - champagne bar for a couple of glasses of bubbly, then dinner, then downstairs for a glass or four of port and a Cuban. You'll be lucky to get change out of £200 but it is the best dining in Brum city centre.
