Question Email fraud - how clued up are you?

No doubt you are aware from reports in the media that fraudsters generate and send genuine looking emails in an attempt to get unwitting people's personal details - a practise called "phishing". Have a look at http://survey.mailfrontier.com/surve...phishingiqtest in order to spot the difference between legitimate and fraudelent mail.

I got 90% - some are quite sneaky...

Never opened it in case it was bogus, reported it to the phishing men at mailfrontier instead.

100% ha!

basically - if the email itself asks for details then it's fraud. The legit ones usually ask you to go the web address you've always used and do it there.

Logon and fill in some bogus details, even more chance of them being caught as they try to logon on using the bogus details

Got 80%.
I got 2 wrong because I put them as fraud when they actually were legit. Better to err on the side of caution

Hopefully if you where an Earthlink customer you would realise that their url is www.earthlink.com not www.earthlink.net. The .net address launches a load of pop ups BTW
