Farm Shops
Went on a long drive yesterday around Brecon , Welsh borders area and stopped off at a few farm shops along the way. Bought loads of free range organic meat, eggs etc all at a lower price than supermarkets sell for. Quality is much better as well.
Talking to two of the farmers they were saying that they set up their shops as they were fed up of the supermarkets keeping market prices low yet adding massive mark ups,and they also both said they hated the fact that their meat was treated and pumped with water before being sold by the big chains which was against their principles of good farming.
Hopefully we'll see more of these shops appearing in the future though I somehow doubt the younger generation will use them if seeing what most of them eat is anything to go by.
Chip.

Went to a Country Fair near Skipton last year where there were a few farmers selling their wares. Bought some of the most delicious cheeses I've tasted. Mmmmmmmm; cheeses that actually taste of something.....

To be honest I wouldnt buy online as prices seem much higher than if you just visit the shops. I spent about £45 in one shop yesterday and the guy threw in a pound of calves liver as he said not many people buy it. Calves liver is about £20/kg in M&S so I did well there.

In the shop, there was a massive chilled dispaly with the most impressive variety of cheeses I have ever seen, cheeses form every corner of the world, most I'd never heard of. I remarked on this, to be replied with:
" Yeah, I like Churnton "
..The same guy once in a Hotel asked the waitress:
" What's deep fried Bry?" ( Brie )
people eh?
