Any Ian Brown fans?
Just listened to a pre-release of his next album Solarized and its flipping mint.
More than a simple return to form for the monkey. Quality!

I remember seeing him get boo'd off stage when he opened for the Manics in Cardiff a year or two ago.
He swaggered on stage like he was a superstar and immediately started spitting into the crowd and hurling abuse for no reason. Someone took offence and lobbed a creme egg at him, he lost it and hurled a big bottle of water at soemone in the crowd.
The crowd got well hacked off and people started hurling things at him and screaming abuse, even his band looked embarassed to be with him. His 'singing' was awful and totally out of key (not sure if that's his 'style'). Eventually the lights came on and some manager and several security blokes from the Arena came on stage and told him to stop winding the crowd up or get off stage, cue massive cheer from the crowd as he walked off swearing.
Well funny Prize muppet.

Seriously though, the crowd at a Manics concert cannot be trusted with musical taste judgement.
Ian Brown is a musical legend and that is indisputable.

I didn't actually say the manics were better than IB did i? Both very different sorts of music, IB and SR just aren't my cup of tea.

You may not say it directly but you sure imply it.
He may not be your cup of tea, fine. May I refer you again to the thread title.

IMO one decent album does not a legend make Especially when that album was mainly the work of a precocious guitarist, who's also never since lived up to that initial promise
I'd say that it was the bad attitude, along with the aformentioned inability to string two notes together on stage, that has contributed to the IB legend.

A breath of fresh air compared to all the utter pap that's clogging the airwaves these days. I like my rock (?) stars to behave like maniacs anyhow, not like manufactured fashion models. If they aint smashing things up and getting wasted then somethings wrong
