Default ebay - has the bubble burst ??

Was always under the impression that no matter what you had for sale, be it a car to a half eaten mars bar !!! put it up for auction on ebay and it would attract masses off bids, eventualy selling at a price way over its actual value !!

well is it just my general bad luck in life ?? or is there anyone else on here that never seems to have any sucuss on e-bay when selling anything ??!!

have advertised a total off 9 items over the last few weeks, ranging from car related to radio related all at what I would consider a very reasonable starting price, ( no reserve price ) with a good description / photo all attracted plenty off hits on the viewing counter but still nothing in the way off bids !!!

now my feedback rating is at 42 positives with no negatives in the three years that I have been a registered ebayer so whats wrong ??

the best one I seen was a chap with a minus 2 feedback rating, yet his item attracted three bids, who says that feedback is one off the most important things to have !!

my latest item attracted some 386 viewing hits and waitt for it, a total off 19 watchers !!! was sure the bids were going to come rolling in at the end - youve gueesed it- not one bid received !!!!!!!!!!!!!

incidentaly the item that I was selling above was an item off radio equipment that I have often seen attracting bids well in excess off its actual price, there was no other competion ( similar radios ) when I had my auction runing so where am I going wrong ??!!!

I'm completely bored of it now. Can't even be bothered to list stuff on it anymore.

I still sell stuff with no problem, sure the odd thing doesn't sell but it usually sells second time around.

Check your title and the categories you list in, maybe that is where you are going wrong?

Kind regards

Robin

I buy records specifically to to sell on ebay- usually the only place you can get them as i get them so upfront.

Certainly no fall in my sales or profit whatsoever.

im still making enough cash at my end as well

its all down to market research and how you present the goods, like freak im buying stuff to sell and im making an average of £6 per item, although i made £11 the other day lol

people are buying stuff off me for more then the RRP.
ebays bubble has not burst IMO
when it does

il just stop doing it lol

My Golf GTi didn't sell two weeks ago. It had a masterpiece description, great photos, nothing wrong with the car, 19 people watching it, a lot of bids but the best was £600 below what I wanted (which was a reasonable price.) There were other Golf GTi's which were better but received no bids at all, and some which were crap and sold for ridiculous amounts! (Anybody want a Mk 3 Golf GTi?!)

It's totally bizarre what some people are prepared to bid, and the chaos theory rule applies as to why some things sell and some don't. Remember this is the general public, don't expect any of them to be rational comsumers.

I sold my Hayward & Scott exhaust on there for £200 last month, so I don't think the bubble has burst yet.

Do a completed Ebay search for adobe photoshop cs upgrade... The official one.

In amazon? 130 quid including delivery.

On ebay? 138 quid plus P&P

People are still stupid. The bubble won't burst...

Look outside, is the sun shinning?
Most normal people are not looking at their computers with the same intensity they do in the winter.
Oh apart from us.

I think it went a bit wrong when they changed the 'ending soonest' etc part, you can enter ending soonest in some catogories and see a few items and think thats it, then look 6 pages in and you find the real start of ending soonest. All happened when they changed it and only if you pay extra for highlighting your listing will it be seen without trawling.

I went from getting good money for stuff to getting really bad money, my mate said the same too. All happened a few months ago.

it's just pot luck i think mate, i have a reasonable rate of good earners, but also stuff i have virtually given away. i sell impreza gauge pods on there and haven't had a bite for the last 2 auctions. when i first listed it about a year ago they sold like hot cakes. way it goes i guess.

want to know one of the best earners on ebay? taylor made rescue golf club. every single one i've seen goes for over RRP, and some are used. loonies us golfers

Depends what your after or selling.

I've been watching loads of Pug bits recently as well as replacement engines for my car, throttle bodies etc and they've been going mad, usually bidding well over the market value.

I'm also after some RC Plane equipment, transmitter, charger etc and folk are paying more than brand new stuff

As said above, the time of the year has a lot to do with it - lots of people are on their hols. Also, as with any market, when the sellers increase the prices drop.

Regards vehicles, IME cars don't sell that well on Ebay
