IIRC the planes now land at a new runway, so you can't watch this anymore.
Apparently, they had to ban dogs from the beach because people would throw their dogs in the air and the poor pooches got thrown 30 feet into the sea

The last bit of the approach to Ascension Island is a bit like that, in fact the runway was a bit higher than the beach. Used to be a bit turbulent sometimes at the last bit.
The approach to the Hong Kong airport (Kai Tak) was one of the best ones to do. The turn onto the last bit of finals was a real thrill and going past the flats made you feel like a licensed hooligan!

Antigua is pretty rough
Some clot left a 50ft hill to one side of the approach so you get wind shear right across the runway at ground level. the effect is that as you come in to land all is nice and smooth, the wheels touch down and the back of the plane goes sideways. Fine at Castle Coombe in a 200sx but in a 777 its a little more worrying!
Nothing like Hong Kong though!

There is a degree of artistic licence to any of these shots showing the approach to St.Martin and you certainly don't notice it as a passenger. Last year we were sailing in this area and apart from the noise as they go over which makes them seem lower they didn't hit the mast.
If you really want to scare yourself then I can make a better suggestion. On the same holiday I did a few hours with an instructor which leads to a form of certification which is required by the airfields there. Look up St.Barts or Statia, both of which have a short RWY, obstacles on final and in the case of Statia a 300m elevation which consists of a sheer cliff.

St Barts you come in over the beach don't you? Unless I guess you have to come in from the other end where there is a hill? Have to say didn't seem that bad but there again I wasn't flying!

I think the RWY orientation for St.Barts was 09 or something close to that, the approach to which takes you in over the bay where you seem awfully close to the masts below but the main problem is the hill prior to the RWY which can produce violent windshear. From what I can remember, I was using full flap, side slipping and having to keep a close eye on speed which was nervewracking when the stall warner trips off. Luckily, I had an instructor with me as I wouldn't fancy banging in there without prior knowledge. The RWY is also very short - less than 700m.

On the way to school in my younger days we used to have to pass in front of the runway and RAF Brize Norton. When a plane is landing traffic lights come on and you have to stop.
You can walk under the flightpath too which is quite cool. About 4 years ago they had a Stealth doing all sorts of acrobatics right over head. Don't know what USAF planes were doing at Brize tho.

The pictures above are insane (no broadband so I haven't d/l the clip)
I landed at Antigua once and it felt normal, the worrying thing was seeing a crashed plane just a minute or 2 before landing.
I also landed at the old Hong Kong airport, sadly I didn't have a window seat but I could see the buildings, it was weird, especially the low turn. I thought the landing was very hard, as I couldn't see the ground I thought we were crashing.
I have couple of pics I took from standing at the end of the runway as a reminder.
I think Copenhagen has a runway near the sea. I remember landing there a few years ago. As the plane descended I thought we were going to land on the sea. Suddenly the runway appeared and we touched down to my relief.
