Anyone else been told off for reading too much Scoobynet at work?
I now only get to read it at lunch time due to my recent appraisal (or slagging off as I took it) Haven't banned it but was told my usage would be left to my judgement which i took to mean if I carry on using it i'll be up **** creek I also decided that would go for any web browsing so have had to cut out web browsing full stop during work
Anyone else had to curb their addiction at work?
Right pain in the ar$e not being able to keep up with the gossip during the day and missing out on any tasty arguing/slanging matches lol

I'm in IT so didn't have a problem getting SN unblocked, just my boss sits next to me and has seen how much I read it so I got told to re-evaluate my usage.
They would be able to track time spent by the time recorded on each link you click. IE you click a different link every minute reading through the pages they will just look at when you clicked the first link and when the last link was clicked. There are other ways as well so I wouldn't be too sure your usage is unmonitored time wise!

It hasn't happened to me yet but I am waiting for it.
1 hour online during the day must be hell. How can you fit everything in?
It's a shame that we have to do some work during the day.
My sympathies.

Yeah you can monitor who has been on certain websites and the amount of time spent on each for certain days/weeks/months etc.. dependent upon the software your company has.

I'm the Practice Manager and pseudo IT manager (i.e. I know how to set up the networks etc... and maintain the computers) for a small IFA firm.
I use Scoobynet and other forums FAR TOO MUCH! All my school reports said I was easily distracted and SNet doesn't even have to try inorder to distract me.
I get the odd moan to either "Stop playing on the blooming internet" or specifically "Stop arguing on Scoobynet!"
However my mother is one of the directors and I'm a share holder so unlikely to get sacked over it but one day the sh1te will hit the fan and an unholy row will break out over it.
(mother as a boss may be cushy but remember your mother knows when your lying so blagging a day off is out and mothers are great for installing guilt into you to make you work Saturdays and till 8pm on nice sunny days like today! )
