Driving Courses
Thinking of going on a driving course like Powertrain' perfomance driving course.
Done the rallying thing a few times, which is a lot of fun but doesn't teach you any real world skills.
Anyone done something similar, any recommendations, thoughts etc.

There's always the IAM test .. a fraction of the cost of 'performance' driving courses yet encompassing many of the same skills, completed at your own pace, and an excellent foundation for any further driving tuition.

I've done a couple of advanced driving courses with a company called bespoke driver training in birmingham. Quite expensive, but very good.
The same company run a lot of response driver training for ambulance services etc. ( the bloke who runs the company works alternate weeks for his own company, and the police).
Would recommend them.

Don Palmer & 1st Lotus (Andy Walsh) are both excellent.
1st lotus will shred the outer edges of your front tyres though - I definately wouldn't go there with new rubber !
IAM teaches you good road manners, but you will never exceed a speed limit. If you want to know how your car handles on (and beyond) the limit then it's not the one to go for. I do recommend doing it as well though.

Booked in with Drivetrain for next week, will post up thoughts.
1stLotus was out as it was in scummy South Wales. As a North Walean I can not dirty my boots anywhere south of Brecon
