12 Volt Car accesories, Is it ok...........
Does anyone know if its ok to leave mobile/ipaq chargers plugged in while you leave the car unattended?
I dont leave the phone or ipaq connected, but the small red light on the plug stays lit up, just been told by a friend that it will flatten my battery?
Is he right? Is all of my battery power falling out from the end of the lead when i leave my car? :-)
Its real hassle keep pluging and unpluging them.
Any ideas?

Ive got a 4-way lighter adapter from halfords that has a big push on/off reg button at the plug end, easier that unplugging.
Although on my Scooby the lighter socket goes off with ignition anyway, what car you got?

Ford Transit Jumbo, saved up £15,000 for a scooby and then decided a van was more important for my business,so savings for a scooby back to £0 :-(
But it has got 2 x 12 volt plugs as standard, which stay on even when the ignition is turned off. If its ok to leave them plugged in, why has your adaptor plug got a on/off switch?
Hmmmm the mystery gets more complicated!

I really would like to know if i am going to come back to a van (silver in colour :-p ) with a flat battery, as i have no AA cover and no jump leads!

Depends how long you leave the van I suppose - more than a couple of months then you might have a problem
I can't see it being a problem - probably just an LED in there which is very very low drain on the battery. Must be a decent battery in a Van too so don't worry about it......

I wouldn't worry either, I leave mine in the Fiesta for ages, never had any bother
The only power that can be used is that to power the LED, you can't lose anything through the actual wire bit as it's just an open circuit.
