Theoretical question
Say someone had their car stolen but they were fairly certain that they had left the car keys in their house front door, would they be a bit daft to mention that to the insurance company?
Not me, theoretical friend.

erm, it'd be more than daft, there'd just be no point ringing the insurance up cause as soon as u mention left keys in door they'll be hanging up on you

Tell your "friend" to break a window and claim the keys were stolen! Hypothetically of course!!
Jason
p.s. I'm not condoning insurance fraud in any way.
And your house is at risk if you don't keep up the repayments or you leave the keys in the door!!

I would recommend that your friend does NOT move a coffee table over near his front door and place some flowers on it and a selection of sets of keys before ringing the insurance company/police when he finds out the keys are missing, just in case they assume that they were stolen through the letter box.
I would also recommend that he does NOT put a few wire scrapes in the inside of his letter box! (of course if he ignored my advise and decided to do that anyway then he really shouldn't leave any of his fresh finger prints around the letterbox)
