Question Looking for reasonable price flights to America suggestions please

Hi

I'm hoping to go to Philadelphia in just over a months time to see friends but flights still seem to be about £400 on lastminute.com Any ideas of who else I can have a look at please?

Thanks

£400's not a bad price. That's my limit including tax.

£400 is what they were when I started looking back in Feb I'd have expected them to be nearer £250 with only a month to go There's no way I'm paying £400 each just for a flight.

The price of flights goes up closer to departure time, the rule is the earlier you book the cheaper it will be. Unless you are prepared to buy your tickets only couple of days in advance that's how it goes.

As for other sites, just do a search, besides the usual suspects (Expedia, Opodo etc etc), there's lots of others out there.

But then you have to pay tax on top of that and that bumps the price right up I can get a whole holiday elsewhere for half of that price Don't the Americans want holiday makers?

I had the same problem a few months ago and unfortunatly whichever way you slice it, it still comes out to around £400 for most decent carriers.

Paul

Have you not thought of a flight to NY and then you can do a search on internal flights which i have always found to be very cheap with the likes of AA etc

I believe NY is only an hours drive from where my friends live I'll have a look for a flight there and see if it makes any difference

Thanks

Question

Fly to Newark & hire a car as its quite an easy drive to Philladelphia

Air France had some deals on for New York however you have to fly to CDG first. We are flying to Newark in Aug for just over £300 each but we booked up a few months ago.

Had a look on airlinenetwork and they have New York on air france from LHR for £296 although you might need to mess about with your dates, they also have Philadephia for £320 but availabilty didn't look good.

Hi Mate

I had a quick searchy for you(assuming your flying from london) and expedia.co.uk is doing them for 376,
£376.30 12:30 Depart London (LGW)
Arrive Philadelphia (PHL) 15:40 Wed 1-Sep
Duration: 8hr 10min US Airways 99 Direct flight

20:25 Depart Philadelphia (PHL)
var szFltInBlkLink1="+1 day"; var szFltInBlkTitle1="Flight arrives on Sun 12-Sep" var szFltInBlkMsg1="The arrival date for this flight is one day after the departure date." Arrive London (LGW) 08:30 http://[img]http://www.expedia.co.uk...Link1); +1 day Sat 11-Sep
Duration: 7hr 5min US Airways 98 Direct flight

You might get it a little cheaper if you fly for 2 weeks, as in your fly back on the same day of the week you flew out. that also dropped the price by a few quid. 361i saw it for. i know its only 40squids but thought it might help.

£361.30 12:30 Depart London (LGW)
Arrive Philadelphia (PHL) 15:40 Wed 1-Sep
Duration: 8hr 10min US Airways 99 Direct flight

20:25 Depart Philadelphia (PHL)
var szFltInBlkLink1="+1 day"; var szFltInBlkTitle1="Flight arrives on Thu 16-Sep" var szFltInBlkMsg1="The arrival date for this flight is one day after the departure date." Arrive London (LGW) 08:30 http://[img]http://www.expedia.co.uk...Link1); +1 day Wed 15-Sep
Duration: 7hr 5min US Airways 98 Direct flight

I doubt your gonna get it much cheaper to be honest, Good luck anyway
