Question Sony Ericsson K700i

Just taken up O2's offer of a free upgrade and one of these phones. Always had Nokia but apparently this is the dogs nuts at the moment!?

Wondered if anyone had one of these and if so is it as good as O2 say?

Purchase one?? It's not cheap! Can you not wait for an upgrade with your network?

I wasn't due for an upgrade for another 2 months but they're phoning people now so they keep their customers! (I love bribary! )

There was only 2 phones I couldn't get so could habe taken pretty much anything. Might be worth a wait if you can.

I'll let you know how I get on anyway. Should be arriving in the next 10 - 14 days.

Battery life is poor,
Also some probs c bluetooth kit on car, if you use voice dialling and phone fails to recognise command, then rather than disconnecting it just hangs, only way to get out of it seems to be to remove battery.

I looked at the K700i, but there's no slot for a Memory Stick and the standard 40Mb is a bit tight for MP3 storage, which ruled it out for me . So, had a new Nokia 6230 delivered today.

I agree, 3 days ish on standby, I think Sony suggest should last 10. Used to have an old Sony t68, which lasted 10-12 days, with similar use. I presume the nice colourful screen uses a lot more power.

SE have, only an hour or so ago, released details of three new phones, including the P900 upgrade (the P910), if you can handle waiting until ?October to get them.

Currently the best phone on the planet - software problems (for those who seem to have experienced some - I havent) can be fixed usually by a quick download of the interweb..
No problems with mine - top drawer - good effort - splendid and spiffing...

Yes i got one bought it sim free, blutooth does have a tendancy to freeze but i`m sure the latest firmware wont suffer this.
The no 2 key sometimes stick if pressed at the top of the key istead of in the center.
Battery is good if only used as a mobile phone but there are so many features that can drain it within a day.

Now on my 2nd battery- Orange sent me another one as I complained about the life. My T610 and T630 would usually do me for two days, poss three at a push. The K700 needs charging daily, as its usually starting to give me warnings by the evening. Seems better if I use a wired handsfree rather than my Parrot car kit, which stays perm connected to the phone and appears to be what is murdering the battery.

Excellent phone though although Bluetooth can be a bit flaky, as mentioned above
