Default Is multimap accurate?

Hi

Just looked at multimap to do a journey from Tunbridge Wells to Bolton and its said 3hrs 36mins Thought it would take at least 5! Bearing in mind i'm driving a 1.1 fiesta, how long should i be looking at ? Thought some of you might drive London to Manchester or something so have a fair idea?

TIA

it'll assume all road speed limits are as listed. so it'll think you'll do 70 along all the motorways, and 60 on NSL roads.

Unlikely, but thats how it works it. So I'd add in a bit just in case.

259 miles in 4hrs 23 according to http://www.viamichelin.com/viamichel...MaHomePage.htm

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE

Only problem is how to allow for roadworks & RTA's.

Have a safe trip whatever.

Mark.

The distance and times are pretty much ok normally. But I'd be very careful on the text directions and they can be misleading or completely wrong.

Although they seem to have upgraded the site so maybe they've ironed out the bugs now

(place bets on when this site will float on the stock market and become subscription only )

I think it assumes an average of 60mph on motorways and 40 on A roads.
