Bracknell A322
Hello
I was driving happily along the A322 this morning having just come off of the M3, and I think I have been caught speeding.
There was a Police van by the side of the road on a stretch that has recently become 50 miles per hour, with a small window in the middle of the rear doors. I'm guessing this is a speed van?
Anyone else see this this morning? Is is likely to be a speed van?
Thanks,
Steve.

Yes that is a speed van and they sit there quite often now. They also sit further along the A322 towards Bracknell on the verge as there is a little entrance/exit to a field there where the van can park up and clock you as soon as you join the traffic coming from the Ascot/Windsor direction.
You better cross your fingers for the next 14 days mate!

The NIP must be with you in 14 days after the day of offence. Some people allow 17 for "postal" issues, some don't.
If the date you think you were caught is over 15 days ago and the car is registered to you personally, (i.e. not a company car) then it looks like you're safe.

Not exactly true - The NIP must be issued within 14 days from the date of offence, not including date of offence. The NIP must be sent by 1st class post as a minimum. You may receive it outside this time limit, but it must have been sent within the 14 day period.

I used to go nuts on that road into bracknell when i had my scooby. I started work at 6.30am, so it was always clear enough for a blast. never saw a police car/speed camera van.
Notable willing opponents include an XKR, R6 bike, Carrera 4, numerous M3s, M3 Coupe, DB7, 355. needless to say they all beat me! good fun though, especially the down hill left hander under the bridge towards bracknell. great fun.
shame about the camera van tho.

Ah, that was you was it!! Someone in a Scooby used to try to undertake all the traffic where Sainsbury's is and the traffic lights cause the lanes to split in to three.
I used to, erm, not take note of my speed on the stretch into Bracknell. But in the last year or so, I have noticed more Police around. I just wasn't paying attention when I saw the van, and wasn't going particularly fast, but they reduced the limit.
Steve.

reminds me of a time where they were shooting a promo in BMW's car park. I used to leave at 3.30 and screamed out of the car park. apparently mr scoobysport ruined a very long take by drowning everything out! got a real b0llocking!

If you are really in the mood for the traffic light grand prix, I've found out that when leaving Bracknell you can have your own GP away from the lights by Sainsbury's, get to the Coral Reef roundabout, and get back to the lights by Sainsbury's in time for another GP down the hill towards the sports centre roundabout!

LMAO!

That stretch of road does induce the hooligan element into sensible, responsible car drivers.
There's definately something about the Sainsbury lights, the cambered underpass and that massive roundabout thingy....maximum attacksville
Not anymore it seems, havn't been there for a while now

Hello
I have a Supra, and occasionally have fun with Subaru drivers and other Supras on that stretch.
Steve.
