whats the crack.

If you unknowingly buy goods from e-bay that are stolen, where do you stand?

bought a pda with sat nav earlier in year, looking to sell it and the guy i lent it to had it checked out it turned out to be stolen and he had it confescated.

where do I stand A) with the police, and B) with getting my cash back for the item.

help would be appreciated.

Just out of intrest how did he have it checked,to see it was stolen.

If you bought it in good faith not knowing it was stolen you can't be blamed. The PDA should be returned to its owner and the only way you can get your cash back is to sue the man who sold it to you.

babber, there is a serial number internally and the person who first purchased it with dell reported it stolen to them, so when someone cross checked that serial it came back with stolen etc.

thanks for the info les, ive got all the info from when i purchased it so thats all good. expecting a phone call today from mr plod regarding this, as I presume until I tell them where I got it, they will have me as the main suspect.
