Origin B² for me too. Similar in specification but the main thing that clinched it for me was how neat and tidy the Origin is. Ok as long as you don't have to switch cars alot. Although additional car kits can be purchased if you have more than one car.

I like the B2 as well. With the remote aerial you can tuck it away down by the gearlever where it's easily seen when you want to but not obvious to everyone glancing in that you intend to drive over the speed limit on every occasion possible.

I have an Origin B2 and an LRC 100 in my WR1. I am having problems at the moment with my Origin. When I accelerate quickly the Origin keeps losing its satellite signal, the unit is then unable to locate any satellites until you are stationary and have turned the unit off and on. Anyone else had any problems like this?

Another vote for B2.
The only slight negative thing i'd say about the B2 is that i've found mine switches off/on when i'm going "fast" down bumpy roads. It basically rattles in the cradle and loses contact with the cradles connector every so often. Can be annoying if you're "making progress" and it starts beeping madly to tell you it's just powered up and looking for satellites, every time that happens you have a "oh-my-god-is-that-a-speed-trap" moment.
Other than that, thumbs up. I sold my Road Angel to buy a B2 and wouldn't consider changing back.

Mine only does it when i'm thrashing the car, or on very bumpy roads.

Ice Man - I used to have a problem with the laser warning going off occasionally during hard acceleration, caused by voltage surges/spikes in the power lines. You may be getting a similar problem.
A quick call to Origin and they sent me a ferrite suppressor to fit over the power cable, which has sorted my problem. May be worth calling them to discuss this option. It arrived free the next morning after talking to them.
Back on thread - definitely the B2 over RoadAngel. From functionality, display and ease of use. If you want a neat install (which may take a few hours to do properly) the B2 is great. If you want to just plug it in to the lighter socket and sit the unit on the dash, then probably the RA is easier. However, my view is that you only have to install it once and then want the best, neatest solution.
PS. I've had mine for 6 months so far and it is excellent. I was getting a bit pee'd of with lack of response to emails and web enquiries (some 5 months old), but eventually phoned and they were extremely helpful and answered all my questions in one go. They have been struggling to keep up with web/email enquiries, so if you need support - phone.

Hi all
Had my B2 for almost 6mths very very good bit of kit.
Just wondering where others have fitted thier unit? On the dash (on the flippy uppy bit on a MY99) or elswhere on in the car.
Just about to re-fit to my new car so interested to hear what others have done.
All the best
Dave.

I fitted mine in front of the right hand air vent - MY03. The sticky pad attaches to the facia to the right of the cup holder. With a small hole in the top of the radio facia the cable goes in to the dash, under the air vent pipes and down in to the passenger footwell, where all the cables are. It sits just above the CD slot.
I thought it was neat and easy to see.
