Ummm, yes a child can leave home at 14. i was forced to leave my home with my Mother about a month after my 15th birthday. Social services get involved and basically they sort it out. You just have to tell them, you can give your gfs sister a roof over her head and 3 meals a day or they will see about fostering (once they've been told, they tend not to just leave the situation). So yeah as long as the parents agree, she can stay with you. You can pm me if you like as theres a few more details/questions you might want to know.

All I can suggest is that, if you're able to get your girlfriends sister away from her family, go to a solicitor , explain the situation and your concerns for her safety etc, they should be able to advise you on where you stand, they *should* take into account the girls point of veiw as she is of an age where she can make her own decisions, so therefor *should* be taken seriously.

If the home she's living in is volatile and violent, then IMO I think she's better off out of there !!

Get the kid to go to social services along with your gf - that way you wont get accused of trying to steal her from the family
