The Belfry (just about Warwickshire but closer to Birmingham really). Fantastic courses but handicaps only for the Brabazon (where the Ryder cup was played). Needs to be seen to be beleive. Also have the PGA National and Derby courses.

The Warwickshire - actually four 9 hole courses that are combined N/S & E/W. Absolutely top notch. 01926 409409

Forest of Arden - again two courses. Hosted the Masters in 2003. One championship and the Aylesford. Phone up and pretend you are thinking of joining and you will usually get a free round on the Aylesford.

Personally the The Warwickshire is my favourite as it's very scenic with plenty of water.

Alternatively if you jsut want a cheap fun round of golf then you could try

Windmill Village (Coventry) - cheap £15/round compared to £40+ for the above three (unless you get 2-fore-1 or scam a free round ). Nice course. Great drive over a lake at one point. I play here when not trying to impress people.

Stoneleigh Deer Park - nice enough course. Busy at weekends. Greens can be a bit scruffy. http://www.stoneleighdeerparkgolfclub.co.uk/

Gav, thanks for taking the time to reply,

think I will take your advice and play at the warwickshire as it looks pretty special, I play at The Shropshire quite regularly and I think either they are owned by the same group or were designed by the same person.

What 2 nine holes do you prefer?

Thanks again, James.

My girlfriends dad plays at the Warwickshire and it's his favourite of the ones in the area.
