Never had an 'open relationship' but is it basically the same as swinging, i.e you go off and **** other people but go home to each other?

Does anyone have this sort of relationship?

I'm probably wrong, but I thought the difference between swinging and open was that in swinging the pair of you would go out and pair off with other people, then go home, whereas the open thing was where you'd just do your own thing on your own (if that makes sense?)

I'm too insecure to have an open/swinging relationship, so it's not something I'd ever be into.

Swinging is always done together whereas Open Relationships are not.

If two people are that secure with each other and they are both in total mutal agreement about it, then go for it! If no-one gets hurt, then it's all a bit of fun.

Oh, and most blokes would not mind if the missus was to get it on with a another girly, though I think they'd be happier if they were allowed to watch and/or join in as well

Should have put in my earlier post that the bloke said to his wife thats the sort of relationship he wanted and she had to agree just to keep her family together AFAIK this went on for 5 yrs and she never went with anyone else, last year she finally met a guy and her husband said yeh fine, whatever.....Her and her kids have now moved in with the new guy and shes expecting his baby lol (she took a lot of **** of her ex hubby so i sorta cheered when i found this out)

I just always think one partner is always far more keen on open relationships/swinging than the other.....

while i dont think id want an open relationship, i wouldnt say someone who did was sad. i think its a pity u cant accept that some people like different things to you without insulting them.

many people in open relationships would say people who are NOT in open relationships are the ones who lack confidence and are insecure.
