That is brilliant - how smug would you feel, telling the officer that you are way over the limit and laughing about it to his face.

I believe the above not to be true but I know of a factual similar tale when a very senior member of Standard Life was being sick on the hard shoulder next to his parked up Merc ..whilst coming back from a function in Glasgow....
The police were doing the usual and asking if he'd had a drink and where had he been.... he went on to tell them exactly how much he'd had to drink and as the police were about to throw the book at him he suggested that they breathalise his chauffeur who had just nipped behind the hedge for a **** .... class

yes i've heard a similar story about a german working on the airfield nearby , they went to a function and got stopped on the way home in their merc by the old bill , the bloke got asked if he had been drinking and he replied yes , but his wife was driving in the left hand drive car .

One of the earlier versions was similar - chap with parked up Roller staggering all over the place trying to have a leak. This was in countryside miles from anywhere. They carted him off to the nick and left an officer to collect car. As he walked to driver's door the window came down silently and chauffeur said to him "I hope your mate's coming back to collect you" and drove off.
