Remembering peoples names?

Remembering peoples names?
I am hopeless at remembering names, and was wondering if anyone has tried any of the books out there that claim to help?
Can you recommend any (hopefully you'll remember the name of the book )
Or, anyone got any tips?
Cheers

When you meet someone and they offer their name repeat it out loud and then repeat. e.g Hello I'm Joe Bloggs
Joe Bloggs
Pleased to meet you Joe.
Then look at them and pick something unusual about them and then say in your head Joe Bloggs, big nose and pink tie. 3 times at least.

I usually get away with "I'm so sorry I can't remember your surname" . With a bit of luck "Why its Smith, Emma Smith" So sorry Emma how silly of me......

Did you mean to put "up" at the end?? I thought you meant when you wake up in the morning

"My name is Keiichi"
"K-what, errrr pleased to meet you"
Tomoka, Takako, Kyoko, Ryoko etc.... When the names are unfamiliar it's harder to remember. I find that writing the name down helps lots.
