Question Steam Cleaner?

Other half has decided that the house could do with a bit of a Spring clean, and has suggested buying a steam cleaner to do the carpets, sofas, shower etc.

Anyone bought / rented one? Any recommendations? Or should I just wheel in a professional to do the carpets?

VAX is not a steam cleaner but works well. Polti is excellent also good for tiles, grout, ovens etc etc. Both pricey to buy for a one off. If you plan to do this regularly then fine, otherwise look at hiring

I believe mine is an Electrolux and it's called an Envirosteamer or something similar.

Very good and very pleased with it. Fluffs up the pile on carpets and cleaned bits of the cooker that I've not managed to get clean from the last owners use of it. Cleaned the grout in the bathroom a treat too.
