Pots & Pans
Hi.
I need to get myself some new ones & want quality without breaking the bank. Anyone got any recommendations? Which is better, Stainless Steel or Teflon coated?
Cheers,
Darren

Anodised Aluminium.
Go for some quality ones, like Anolon Professional - www.anolon.com - (glass lids) or similar ones (T304 - with stainless steel lids) from The Professional Cookware Company.
Not cheap - but very good. The Anolon ones are used by Raymond Blanc.

Analon professional here as well. Used them for a few years now and they are superb. You get what you pay for with pots and pans so spend as much as you can and they will last you years.

is aluminium better than stainless?
IMO non stick pans are for pansies (no pun intended ). it may be an irrational opinion, but there it is.
a good stainless pan with an encapsulated base will last for ever. a cast iron frying pan is also handy, and cheap to buy.

You may mean the stainless ones - which do often have separate bottoms - and certainly my GF has some which did the same thing.
Hence my recommendation for anodised ally rather than stainless steel.

I bought a set of good 18/8 gauge stainless steel pans over 20 years ago. They're still perfect apart from a plastic handle broke after being dropped.
