Any budding industrial chemists on here?
I have a domestic problem. Masking tape has been left too long on interior prime wood (iroco) window and door frames. What's best to shift it? Are there any proprietary brands available to do the job?

I'd say same as suggested - heating it to soften or wiping with isopropyl alcohol are the best ways forward. IPA is brilliant at removing sticky stuff without attacking underlying paint, plastic etc

Jeez - what a disappointment. When I read the title I thought it was going to be a Scoobynet Group Buy on drugs or a DIY on how to make crack cocaine

Any volatile organic solvents would be the obvious ones to try. IPA as mentioned, or maybe acetone. Alternatively you could try the natural approach with tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil.
