So the adverts for the next Big Brother have once again started making an unwelcome appearance on my television....

Question:

Are they far off the mark thinking that people still want to watch this dross for hours at a time... or, more worryingly, is the general public still willing to consume as much televisual rubbish as channel 4 can shovel at them?!

People still watch it - it costs them nothing and brings in plenty of advertising money.
Sad and sorry state of affairs, but as long as it is profitable it will continue.

It's the E4 coverage of a dozen nobodies sleeping at 4am that gets to me! WHY?

tip for this yr...watch USA BB instead- they are allowed to scheme/plot/gang up against each other- they all vote tactically and so the diary room is full of hatred for each other and not crap about warts.

the prize is half a mill, the games have more budget than C4 altogether and involve proper physical challenge (like sticking people in a cage 6*6 and saying "last one in wins" no loo break, no sitting down- just people in a cage for a day trying to find a corner so they can plot with each other to leave the cage in return for not voting each other out etc, etc)

you are also guaranteed at least some half decent looking people as opposed to the pigs our one attracts....ohh, and they arent to fussed about having sex fora)the hell of it b) if they think it will keep them in!

Personally I think it's a waste of a decent channel, but it must be popular enough to bring in the viewers. Not as bas as Sky 1 recently. The amount of cr@p they shove on is unbearable. More often than not I'm expresing my right to turn that **** off. Wonder why I bother paying for the subscription thesedays

I've had a vague interest in it now and again, after studying psychology the people watching aspect in the early shows was amusing, it now seems to be an extention of Hello magazine and a front for talentless wannabes.

If only it were that simple... Newspapers, tv shows, radio shows and the internet will all be desparately getting in on the act to try and make up for their lack of material. Its forced down your throat as much as is feasibly possible!

Not to me though, this summer is going to be a media cut-off, an "ajm D-Notice" if you will. The DVD collection is swelling in anticipation. Newspapers will be binned and the car will be stocked with CD's. They will have more luck getting Big Brother into North Korea as they will into my personal space!!!

I don't know if this is true but it seems an unheard of condom company has just finished filming there 20sec ad, the camera will focus on the face of a woman while she has an orgasm! (sounds interesting I hear you say!).. its a first cause I can't remember the last time a condom company advertising on 'terrestrial telly' bar 'Tarrant on TV'

Ah BB5, oh dear, oh dear. Do they really think anyone is still interested. A friend of a friend is part of the production team @ Endemol (sp?) and we have asked them why on earth they are doing it, again. very odd. BB1 and 2 were ok, after that, it was just boring. I'm totally fed up of all these 'reality' type shows, think the novelty has well and trully worn off. Thankfully I'm not going to be subjected to BB5 over here, which is one saving grace

In the x number of years that dross has been on the telly I have inadvertantly watched about 15 minutes of it - purely to add strength the the reasons I loathe it so much.

If your idea of fun is watching an ever diminishing number of ego inflated retards living in a lounge then you are sad - not my opinion - but pure hard fact.

Remember as a kid "Why Dont You" suggesting you go out and do something less boring instead? Well do it!

I live in a batchelor pad - nice house etc - with lots of comings and goings in the evenings - Why watch those plonkers when I can guarantee there will be drunken parties, bad language, hows ya father, soft drug use, fights, sexy ladies (sometimes), my amazing burps and trumps - and all this without a inflatable black man, a camp wuss, a cockney retard fat tart, a mooody lesbian (have I missed any stereotypes)???

My friend had a novel idea for his BBS. He developed a Big Brother system where you could vote for members to be kicked off. And everyweek a member was permanently banned.

Could we adopt this to get rid of some of the RifRaf?
