friend pulled over for doing 105 on motorway.
A female friend was pulled over last night in a Uk wagon for doing 105 on the A1m, Pretty certain she is facing a ban and hefty fine of some type, anyone have any recent outcomes for 100+ court verdicts. So she can prepare for the worst ?.

Is this a riddle thread?
How do you know she's somebodys wife?
Then there's the fact that some women are better drivers than some men.

100 - 109 mph, a ban is at the discretion of the magistrate. Even with a good solicitor pleading hardship, if the magistrate decides to ban her then there's nothing she can do.

that stretch has gatsos and truvelos galore, and countless hand helds
why the **** didnt they just build the road around these villages instead of through them? then everyone could speed

Is she a high ranking Police officer ?
If so she will be fine.
If not she will be banned for a few weeks, with a rather large fine.
Plead insanity, works for me every time.
The voices......they told me to drive flat out, who said that? Did your hear that......hello, where am I ?[Puts hands over ears, and shakes head in frantic, voilent movements, whilst screeming at the top of my voice.]
On a serious note:
If she has an old paper license, she should take it to court with her.
When the JP asks what she has to say in her defence, she can unfold the license and show him where it says........
TEAR ALONG DOTTED LINE.
If so she will be fine.

it was the new 4 lane bit on the A1, not the section passed grantham with gatsos and truvelo's.
Heard a rumour from a friend of cambs councilor that the section of road is actually owned by a private company and leased back to the government, This company will not allow fixed cameras, so the police have to use traps on bridges and vascar cars.
could be bobbins but doesnt seem completely inplausable.
I agree she was lucky a few weeks ago in the same place doing a similiar speed, so if it is a daily commute spped it is inevitable on a road like that.
better than i thought 6 points £500 i was expecting her to go down with a ban and 1k fine.

earlier on the Quenby's bloke had shown me the plough marks where he'd binned a 911 on the buntingford road a few days before. he said it wasn't his.

I suppose if she makes a habit of cruising at those speeds then she really can't complain when she gets caught. Is it worth losing your license and all the extra expense on your insurance?

Thankyou Leslie and Tiggs for putting you're tuppence in. The question was what fine she is expecting to get not a lecture from the do-gooder squad. LOL Bunch of hypocrits. So you've never done over 100 mph on a motorway?

I was in court monday.
Caught doing 106 on the M25.
I got 6 points and £555 fine.
tell your 'friend'
Get a solicitor - get their company to plead that they need them driving or it hurts them too - and take extra driving lessons before they go in.
Good luck.
