Mobile Phones.... aaargh!
Hello All,
Ian's girlfriend here! Having bored him stupid for about 3 days (he's claiming at least a week), he's suggested that I post a thread.
There are just sooo many mobile deals around at the moment, i just don't know what to go for. I'm currently starting up a business so will need it for that, I was thinking of a 100 xnet minutes & then saw that T-mobile are doing an offer: Euro 2004 so if you go for the above you get 45 (half-time) extra minutes. Also you get 50 texts & this is £21 p/m. This sounds like a good deal to me?
Also, I'm not too au fait with actual phones. Really would like a small one, pref Nokia (can share mobile chargers!), not too fussed about all mod-cons, not space-age looking though.
So, after this ramble, I'm looking to spend c. £20p.m & would like Nokia (of some kind?) and would also like low call costs - as I'll prob go over the allocated minutes.
Really appreciate any ideas.
Cheers,
deb

Nokia 6230 is nice. There's another one out called the 6830 that looks good, too, but I haven't played with that. SonyEricsson K700 is my personal favourite at the moment.
If you want a "clamshell" phone, there's a new Samsung that is nice (can't remember the model number though), or the Panasonic X60 if you want something small and girlie

Tariff wise, this is about the cheapest price with most minutes included. Phone's a bit big though, good but big.

Orange, O2 and Voda are all launching their own 3G services soon (allegedly) so hopefully there'll be a bit of a price war. Smaller handsets should start filtering through soon too.

I have 500 x-net mins a month on a Orange Value Plan, matching a 3-mobile tariff, and that is for £30pm.
Just remember that if you are planning to use this for business you are going to be using the phone a lot, so go for a higher number of minutes at first, if after 6 months you aren't using all the minutes, then change tariff.

Personally I've just left O2 after 10 years cos I'm fed up of the shoddy customer service and gratitude for loyalty. And my new phone was free on Vodafone but was a £289 upgrade from O2 unless I took a new number, which I didn't want to do.

I had a similar problem to you last week.
What I advise is to pop into some phone shops and have a look at the phones available, making a note of which ones you like (some sizes/quality may not be as you expect).
The big chains will have a leaflet for you to takeaway which lists all the tariffs, so you can have a look at home and decide which you think suits you. Be aware that not all phones are free.
After lots of phone website viewing at the weekend, I found the big stores charge more for their phones than anyone else.
I expect Jaycee will be in touch with you soon and can help you out (as he runs a phone company).
BTW, I have chosen a phone and deal now, just got to get the contract sorted.
Happy hunting

I phoned Orange on Saturday as I was paying around £40 a month for 200mins and 60texts .
Me....
blah blah I'd like to cancel my contract of over 3 years cause you are extortionate compared to other offers out there
Guy paid to keep you with orange when you threaten to cancel
OK sir... we'll give you a free upgrade to a nokia 7250i , match 3's deal (although not initial 3 month half price offer) of 500mins for £25
Me
thanks very much
