Updating a mobile phone
I would like an idea or two please on changing my mobile.
I am not interested in getting the latest model and don't mind getting a decent second hand phone.
Size of address book isn't an issue as I still use a backup paper version.
Colour screen would be good, picture display even better.
I would like a phone with games.
Quite simple really but I have no idea what I should be looking at.
I currently have a nasty Nokia 3510 which buzzes when in use. I am contracted with Vodaphone (don't know if this matters for sim size)
A change would be nice.
So what phones should I consider?

If your 12 month contract is up I would take alook at vodafone.co.uk Currently offering Sony T610 (bluetooth) on contract for £15/month including 100 mins cross network and 50 texts.
That's £180 for a year. People are buyng these phones on ebay for £100 with no sim card. Use it for a year and sell it on.

my 12 month contract was up a long time ago, but I haven't found a better deal, so I am happy to stick with it for now (£13.99 inc itemised billing, 50 free texts and 600 mins per month off peak and other vodaphone (which get carried over)).
I just knew I would get a dodgy comment about the buzz.
7250i doesn't appear to have games and its orange (not the colour).

I am on T-mobile 290 cross network minutes & 100 texts for £33.50
Contact vodafone customer services & ask what free upgrades they have available, though you dont have to stay with them as you can change networks & still keep your existing no

Thanks S.B. for that extra info.
I have asked about free upgrades, but it means paying alot more per month. That is why I am happy to keep the contract I have. Its only the phone I want to change.

I now have a new phone (exactly what I wanted), new contract and kept my number thanks to jaycee.
Jason was very helpful, he knows everything about phones and associated info and won't make you choose something you don't really need.
His prices are also a lot cheaper than the high street.
The whole process was quick and simple and I much prefered having the 'personal touch'.
See his banner that sometimes appears at the top, or go to Alpha-Telecom
He even has a forum for any phone questions.
It's a pleasure to give his company a plug as I am a happy customer.

I picked a T630.
I popped into a high street shop just to see what they all looked like and prefered the T630, although b/f was trying to persuade me to get the nokia 7250i.
There really is a difference in looking at a picture of a phone and seeing the real thing.
My old supplier offered my a good deal when I said I was leaving, but i said no and that they shouldn't have neglected me since I signed up with them (over 2 years ago). I told them that is was too late.
Dazza, I have not tried the vibrate setting yet.
