92 in a 60
was on the way back last night from work to be back in time to get last orders at the pub. was going around 90ish on the a45 dual carriageway pulled onto the slip road to my horror a police car pulls up next to me and his window goes down. then the converision goes as follows;
policeman "do u know what the speed limit back there"
me "60 sir"
Policeman " yeah, how fast do you think you were doing?"
me "um.. about 80 i think"
Policeman "we clocked you at 92 licence loosing speed, now save that kind of driving for a track day and take it steady home"
and off he went off the lights.. so i guess im very lucky! not even a producer, must of been the end of his shift?

You didn't deserve to get away with it. Enjoy backslapping and congratulating yourself while you can, because it's only a matter of time before you cause a serious accident or kill someone.

I'm most dangerous on the road when I'm watching my speedo, sticking to the limit and concentrating on nothing...I'm most alert when going for a blast.

92 MPH on a dual carriageway with not much traffic is perfectly fine. Just keep your eyes open next time and slow down if anything approaches at speed, from the rear!
If he'd been caught doing 40 in a 30 past a school, for instance, and I'd be the first to slate him.
Get a life you lot and speed up a bit.

Who can honestly, hand on heart say they dont push it a bit on a quiet road - i think your kidding yourselves if you say you dont. The cars ther to be enjoyed - and b4 i get slated by any1 ONLY in/on a sensible road at a sensible time.

I have to say that if you can't drive along a dual carriageway and also know what your speed is within close limits without your attention being significantly distracted from the safety side, then you are either driving at a horrifically dangerous speed or you just are not a very capable driver! Or both.

Bubba mate - you've been listening to the government again. Just going quick doesn't mean you are going to have an accident. Doing 90 through a built up area, I would agree with you is suicidal and you get everything you deserve. On roads built for higher speeds, it is not the same. If the police were that concerned that borich was driving dangerously ( and not just quickly) then they would have done more than given him a ticking off.
Motorways and dual carrigeways are statisically the safest roads in the country (and the vast majority of accidents actually happen at or under the speed limit). If you are going to speed, I can think of a lot worse places.
I don't condone what borich has done, but on the other hand, I doubt anyone here would swear that they've never speeded and therefore we are in no position to preech.

Given that the Police were happy to let him go, it's safe (imo) to say that the driving wasn't dangerous else they'd written a ticket. Hopefully a case of the police operating within the spirit of the law rather than to the letter.

Not if you saw it!!!! I required a warning not a booking!
2 mile straight, 1 junction which you can look down from miles back due to the low hedges (would see anyone approaching it), and very wide. Perfect sunny evening no traffic grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You lucky lucky boy borich, just make sure that you put that speed into practise at santa pod.
Also to you guys who have had a go at the poor boy, i think it may be time ( can't believe I am saying this!) for us to take a leaf out of ZEEEEE GERMANS and get us some derestricted roads!!!!!! LIKE THE M6 TOLL SHOULD BE!!!!!
Also you guys who are saying it is wrong to speed on a motorway are a bunch of hipocrits. Enough said.

Actually guys, forget what Borich did but what response he received from the cops.
Hail those guys who let Borich on his way I say.
Had it been dangerous they would have surely had him, but in this case they used the long lost art of discretion.
Well done to them I say.
