Hi mate.
You should be aware they have a points system in Oz .
A minimum number gives you immigration status.
Factors like financial satus ,qualifications , age , young children ,job requirement (I know bricklayers are sought at the moment) all contribute to the points total.
No criminal record -That one is a joke when you think years ago that was mandatory to go!

Rob,
I have done a bit of looking & I think we will be ok regarding the points, 70 is required for skilled migration.
I need a good agent that has a branch in the UK to help me migrate my family. I have been told about £2000 for the fees ??
plus you need $3000 aus dolloars in a bank account for 2 years prior to going ??

I have just received my perm res VISA in the last two weeks, it has taken 18months to process..
Hit http://britishexpats.com/forum/forum...?s=&forumid=32 if you want assistance, I used this site exclusively to help..
Best advice is be patient, the AUS immigration dept (DIMIA) are in no rush, and make sure all docs are in perfect order otherwise DIMIA will kick it back straightaway and you go to the bottom of the pile..
cheers
