Hello
Because your bladder when it fills up at night puts pressure on your prostate and causes an erection.
That or you have been dreaming or Cameron Diaz or sheep or whatever it is that excites you.

Mmmm... that's not quite the same thing though. When you are sleeping your brain doesn't send the same "Oh my God you are going to wet yourself" messages, so other things happen!
Which is just as well, as you'd get arrested I guess. Or perhaps just nip off to the loo whilst shopping a bit more!

I always find that if i wake with a boner then it takes ages to go down, i can usually carry all my work clothes downstairs hung over it too , then i have to crank the old fella down into girlie wee position (sitting on the toilet) to relieve my full bladder
