Default Royal Mail Smartstamp

Afternoon everyone,

Does anybody use this royal mail service? It would appear that for £5 a month you can print your own postage stickers/stamps on a pay as you go basis.

It would seem to be aimed more at the business user but I sell quite a bit via ebay and im wondering if this is any good and if it's worth a fiver a month.

The main advantage i can see is that I dont have to interact with the grumpy sod behind the post office counter who generally looks like ive wrecked his week when i turn up with more than 1 item to send.

To be honest it would be easier if they did a true pay as you go system for the home user without the sub fee but there you go!

Any opinions would be appreciated

David

Seems you can also print special delivery jobbys too- which is intriguing- i wonder how accurate you have to be with packages that weigh a lot.... *ahem*

the mind boggles, so that'll be 26p for this set of alloys then....

26p for alloys wouldn't work - I send out loads of mortgage stuff that usually weights in around 120g. I think the sorting machine weighs each item, cos if it is 5g more than you have paid for they lose it for three weeks and then charge you a quid plus the difference to get it back
