Lightbulb eBay - who has done cash on delivery

I think I've made a mistake in understanding what COD(cash on delivery) meant.

To me, foolishly, I thought that it meant I'd accept cash if the buyer came to collect. However, technically it means the buyer pays the courier at the point of handover once the item has been delivered. This is the stand point my buyer is taking.

Now my buyer is being more than reasonable in saying if I'm unhappy then we can both mutually withdraw from the auction with no adverse feedback. The sum of money involved is a knats over £400.

But trying to keep my sale, I'm wondering if anyone else has experience of with a courier usinng the COD payment method

Can anyone help?
Andy.

I think thats part of the problem. Everyone has a slightly different opinion on what COD means.

As official as it is, the definitions I found in a Google search seems to consistent in saying the courier is paid once the buyer has accepted the goods but before they are handed over.

Keep the answers coming - thanks.

I've had several buyers collect and pay cash. All good guys. It saves a lot of time waiting for payments to clear, packing stuff up and going to the post office etc.
