Whilst looking for some flights for a weekend in September to Mallorca, I found that BA were cheaper than anyone (inluding Easyjet by 60 quid !!)
Dont discount the major airlines.

I'm guessing you're talking international, but at the risk of being shot down in flames, may I suggest if it's a domestic flight then the rail network might be a possible alternative option. I've just spent a day in Newcastle - traveled first class, took 2 1/2 hours from Stevenage and cost £58 for a return ticket. (it was actually cheaper than a standard flexible ticket)
I've used EasyJet a lot in the past, but this is way easier, cheaper to park, no handing round for an hour at each end before the flight AND (before we get the cr@p jokes about train time keeping) - is probably about as reliable and on time as EasyJet usually aren't!
(and you get a big seat, free muffin and as much coffee/ tea/ water as you can drink!)
