Hello

Maybe I am being naive, but PayPal can't help AT ALL?!

They cannot even give you the persons address?

What is the point of using a service like that if it offers no protection?

(I'm sorry you lost £750, I just am wondering how PayPal survive)

Steve.

Paypal only offer decent cover if the seller is registered to their higher level cover scheme. You need 98% positive feedback for this.

I am a covered seller under this scheme.

So come on, give us the details.

There are ways of finding out the info you require if you don't get your lap top or money back.

Right.

rikmarot is your key to getting back your money if this doesn't get resolved favourably.

rikmarot left good feedback on a previous sale - maybe worth speaking to him...

rikmarot sold him something (I think) so must have sent the item to his address..........

Give it a day or until you're sure you've been robbed and you're not getting the cash back. Then it may be worth a PM through ebay to this rikmarot to see if he'll help you out.

All he has to do is give you the delivery address.

I guess there is a great big clue in the ad itself

It is a Toshiba Laptop, yet it states no refunds will be given etc, all warranties will be with Dell !!!!!!

Also it states a four year Dixons coverplan, yet further down he states 3 year warranty

edited to add, he only has 40% feedback rating too, 3 of which are negative (one from yourself) and one positive feedback no longer a registered user, and that user id was too similar to the sellers own

I personally wouldnt have even bid at all

rikmarot sold him the following,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=3086256794

click on the ask seller a question, ask him to look in his records for the address of the person he sent he item to, and explain why!

on a more serious note, did you not look at his feedback first? its very very poor.

Yeah I would agree with Sonic - the wording on the ad is very harsh and I wouldn't attempt to deal with that person.. but hey we all live an learn I guess..

I hope you get some resolution anyhoo

If it's Paypal then it should be credit card. Your CC should be able to sort this for you. A shame this has happened.

the other you could do, and its a bit of a long shot, but, if you copy his user name down, and do the search, and see if he sells anything else, get someone to buy it now, and then say they dont have the paypal facility, "even if this is his only payment option" and say ile send you cash or whatever, and get his address that way.

in fact cant you goto my ebay and then click on the item, and then payment status, it "SHOULD" come up with your address and also his! try that mate.

I know i did notice these things i guess i got caught up in the moment. When i was bidding
they didnt seem important at the time but now im kicking my self. What makes this worse is i sell on ebay and have a 1000 feedback and i consider my self streetwise not the type to be ripped off and i was thinking paypal was totaly safe having to have a bank account and credit card
